How Can Vyanet Drone Mapping Work for You?

Here are answers to the most common questions our customers have about our premiere mapping service.

The great news is that there is no additional cost—drone property mapping is already included in your current QA plan. You can request this service at any time, with the number of annual mappings determined by your plan level.

Bronze QA members can request one mapping per year, Silver members bi-annually, Gold members are eligible for up to three mappings per year, and Platinum members can receive quarterly mapping services.

Drone mapping provides a faster, smarter, and more detailed view of your property than traditional ground inspections alone. By capturing high-resolution aerial imagery and accurate site data, we can help identify security vulnerabilities, monitor large or hard-to-access areas, and create a clearer understanding of your property layout.

This service can help you:

  • Detect potential security risks before they become costly problems
  • Monitor fences, gates, access roads, and perimeter areas more efficiently
  • Improve visibility across large properties, construction sites, farms, or commercial facilities
  • Document property conditions for insurance, liability, or incident reporting
  • Support emergency planning with updated aerial maps and site overviews
  • Reduce the time and cost associated with manual inspections and patrols
  • Equip emergency responders with accurate, real-time aerial intelligence to support faster, safer decision-making during fires, break-ins, active threats, hostage situations, and other critical emergencies.

With regularly updated drone mapping, you gain a proactive tool that helps improve awareness, strengthen security planning, and better protect your property, assets, and operations.

Aerial mapping imagery provides a detailed, up-to-date view of your property that can support faster decision-making during security events and everyday operations. Security teams can use the imagery to quickly identify access points, gates, buildings, utility areas, parking lots, and other critical features before responding to an incident. The imagery can also help first responders better understand site layouts, locate the safest access routes, identify potential hazards, and coordinate resources more effectively.

When an alarm is received, our central station can share a secure link to your property’s aerial mapping imagery with responding first responders, providing valuable situational awareness while they are enroute.

We are also working to establish direct ASAP-to-PSAP integration with participating local 911 centers. As this capability becomes available, approved emergency communications will be able to include this mapping information as part of the automated alarm dispatch process. Until that integration is available for your jurisdiction, our central station can provide the mapping link directly to first responders if this feature has been enabled in your account.

This capability helps improve situational awareness, supports more informed response planning, and can reduce the time needed for responders to become familiar with a property during an emergency.

Our drone mapping services are ideal for every variety of property. Some of the properties that benefit most from aerial mapping include:

  • Commercial facilities
  • Construction sites
  • Farms and ranches
  • Industrial properties
  • Warehouses
  • Event venues
  • Residential estates
  • Remote or large-acreage properties

No property is too small to benefit from aerial mapping. Whether it’s a single-family home in a small town or a large commercial campus, having detailed property imagery available can provide first responders with valuable information when every second counts.

Our drone mapping technology produces highly detailed and precise imagery using GPS-enabled flight systems and professional-grade software. Accuracy levels vary based on project scope and site conditions, but our deliverables are designed to support reliable operational and security planning.

Drone mapping plays a critical role in strengthening emergency preparedness by providing accurate, up-to-date aerial intelligence that helps property owners, security teams, and first responders plan and respond more effectively during critical situations.

Using high-resolution aerial imagery and detailed site mapping, drone technology creates a comprehensive visual overview of your property, including buildings, access roads, entry points, utility locations, fencing, terrain, and other important infrastructure. This information can be invaluable during emergencies when every second matters.

Drone mapping can help with emergency preparedness by:

  • Creating detailed emergency response maps that improve coordination during fires, medical emergencies, burglaries, active threats, natural disasters, or hostage situations
  • Helping first responders quickly identify the safest access points, evacuation routes, staging areas, and potential hazards before arriving on scene
  • Improving situational awareness for large, remote, or complex properties where ground visibility may be limited
  • Assisting in fire prevention planning by identifying combustible areas, overgrown vegetation, blocked access roads, or other environmental risks
  • Supporting disaster recovery efforts by documenting property conditions before and after storms, floods, wildfires, or other incidents
  • Enhancing communication between property managers, private security teams, and emergency personnel through accurate visual references
  • Providing regularly updated aerial data so emergency plans remain current as properties change over time
  • Reducing response delays by giving emergency crews a clearer understanding of site layouts and critical infrastructure locations

For businesses, industrial facilities, farms, construction sites, and large private properties, drone mapping provides a proactive layer of preparedness that can improve response efficiency, reduce confusion during emergencies, and ultimately help protect lives, property, and valuable assets.

Protecting privacy is a key consideration in our aerial mapping process. The imagery is collected for the purpose of documenting property features—not monitoring individuals. As part of the mapping process, the software automatically removes or obscures people captured in the imagery, helping ensure that individuals are not identifiable in the final maps.

Additionally, the aerial imagery does not have the capability to see through closed windows or into the interior of buildings. The maps are intended to provide an overhead view of exterior features such as buildings, parking lots, access roads, gates, fences, utility areas, and other site infrastructure.

The resulting imagery is designed to improve situational awareness for property owners, security personnel, and first responders while respecting the privacy of occupants and neighboring properties. Access to the mapping data is controlled and shared only with authorized users and, when requested by the customer, with responding emergency personnel during an incident.

Yes. All drone operations are conducted in accordance with applicable FAA regulations and safety guidelines. Our pilots are all licensed and follow strict operational procedures to ensure safe and legal flights.

Drone mapping can cover large areas quickly and efficiently while reducing the need for manual inspections, lifts, or extended ground patrols. This can save both time and operational costs. Keep in mind that Vyanet offers drone mapping as part of your existing Quality Assurance plan – so there is no additional fee for this service.

Project timelines vary depending on property size and complexity. Smaller sites may be completed in a few hours, while larger or multi-location projects may take several days including data processing and report delivery.

Yes. We take client privacy and data security seriously. All imagery, mapping data, and project information are handled confidentially and shared only with authorized parties.
