VYANET Technologies Purchases Oldfield's Home Theater Installation Business

VYANET, one of the Northwest’s fastest-growing security and technology companies, has purchased Oldfield’s Appliance and Home Theater whole-house technologies and installation business, effective April 1st, 2009.

Along with the whole-house technologies sales and installation business, VYANET has also purchased Wolf Security Inc., the company that has always handled all of Oldfield’s residential and commercial security and monitoring business.

Effective April 1st, 2009, Oldfield’s Appliance and Home Theater will no longer sell or install whole-house audio products, central vacuum systems, structured wiring systems and intercoms, but will instead focus on single room home theater systems and installations. Oldfield’s will refer all whole-house technology and security sales and installation business to VYANET.

“This arrangement allows Oldfield’s Appliance and Home Theater to focus our business on our core strengths, which is major appliance and home theater sales and installation,” said Oldfield’s Vice President, Joel Rimmer, “Oldfield’s is excited to partner with VYANET to serve our customers who want more technologies in their home than home theater, because of the fact that VYANET is a local business with a proven track record of providing outstanding customer service with great products and knowledgeable personnel.”

Along with purchasing the whole-house technologies division of Oldfield’s, several former Oldfield’s employees are now employed by VYANET including Billy Anderson, Jon Christianson, and Heath Banks.

This represents the latest of VYANET's recent acquisitions in its growth from a security company to a complete home technology company. Last year VYANET purchased Diversified Electronics and merged with Secure-Tech, acquiring their local security and home technology services. VYANET has also expanded its list of home technology services to include home theater installation, central vacuum, networking and audio/video design.

Ron German, of VYANET Technologies, sees an increasing need for these kinds of home technical services. “It used to be you would set the 12” TV on the dresser. Nowadays you're looking at mounting the 42” plasma screen on the wall and connecting it to surround sound. This presents a technical challenge to even the most savvy customers – not to mention the time commitment.
